Empowering NGOs in Liepāja: The NVO Growth Incubator
Building Stronger Organizations, One Step at a Time
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) play a crucial role in shaping and strengthening civil society. However, many organizations struggle with limited resources, lack of funding, and challenges in strategic planning. To support and empower local NGOs, the NVO Growth Incubator was launched in Liepāja – a six-month-long capacity-building program aimed at enhancing NGO sustainability, fostering collaboration, and increasing funding opportunities.
Who We Are
The NVO Growth Incubator is a joint initiative by Keep the Change and Liepājas Rezidenču un Kultūras centrs, co-organized and supported by Liepāja Municipality. This program is tailored to help NGOs strengthen their operations, secure funding, and develop long-term strategies for impactful community work.
Why This Incubator?
Many NGOs have brilliant ideas and passionate teams, but struggle to navigate funding opportunities, project applications, and sustainable management. The NVO Growth Incubator provides:
✅ Expert mentoring in project writing, funding applications, and organizational development
✅ Workshops & training on NGO visibility, communication, and financial planning
✅ Collaboration opportunities with other organizations in Liepāja and beyond
✅ Tailored support to guide each NGO in their unique journey towards sustainability
What Happens During the Incubator?
The program consists of four in-person sessions along with ongoing mentoring and digital resources.
🔹 Session 1 – February 12: Kickoff meeting, networking, and “The Marketplace” activity – where NGOs exchange resources, skills, and expertise.
🔹 Session 2 – March 12: Communication strategies – how NGOs can build their brand, engage with their audience, and leverage social media.
🔹 Session 3 – May 14: Project development and funding – hands-on training in proposal writing and securing financial support.
🔹 Session 4 – June 18: Final presentations, impact measurement, and future collaboration planning.
Each NGO is assigned a dedicated mentor who provides personalized support, helping organizations set clear goals and prepare successful funding applications.
